The Club has a District Simplified Grant to award 12 bicycles in a elementary school reading contests at Atherton and Beth Anderson Elementary Schools.

These schools are among the lowest socioeconomic levels of the AISD, with as many as 90% of the children qualifying for free lunches due to family income.  It is a real thrill to see the excitement these students have when rewarded for a year of reading. The more books read, and the tests on them passed, the better the chance of winning a bike.  To really experience the difference your generosity makes, we encourage you to attend one or more of the bike drawings.

1101 Timberlake Dr. Arlington, TX 76010

9:00am Wednesday, June 3 rd (First, Second graders)

9:15 am Thursday, June 4 th (Third thru Sixth graders)

These times are the end of the awards assemblies, so be there a few minutes early.  You won't have to sit through all the awards that way.  Wear your Rotary shirt if you have one.  These students and their parents have probably never heard of Rotary but all the bikes have a 4-way test key chain attached courtesy of Dan Morales.
