“Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.”         Will Rogers

Our new Rotary Year is underway, as we begin to build up our membership to its past glory.  At our Club Assembly last week we mapped out a course for us all to strive to attain in making this year shine.

Our program for this week is the RYLA students presentation on their life changing experiences at the last RYLA conference that our club provided by our Rotary Youth Leadership Award scholarships to the three lucky students.  Sam Houston High School students Gladiola Quinones, Tech Le and Julie Sutton will provide illumination into the leadership skills they developed at the RYLA conference.  Don’t miss this program that is valued by our members as a vital part of our community youth services as evidenced by our survey respondents.

Next week July 20th Rotarian Joy Griffin will provide a Community Health Needs Assessment of Arlington Memorial Hospital (aka Texas Health).  This is the hospital where both of my sons were born and where I have received many stitches in the ER.  It is vital resource to serve the needs of the citizens of the northern sector of our city.

The thoughts and prayers of our members go out to the family of Ranger fan Shannon Stone who tragically died in a fall accident at the Ballpark.  May God rest his soul.

Sincerely,

Brian Cotter, RLA, ASLA
